Ukrainian hackers steal vital documents on 500 Russian MoD's objects, sources

Ukrainian hackers have breached a state enterprise in the Russian Federation, stealing documentation for 500 objects of the Russian Ministry of Defense, reports RBC-Ukraine according to its own sources.

The group of hackers known as Blackjack, allegedly affiliated with the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), has reportedly breached a Russian state enterprise responsible for constructing military facilities throughout Russia.

Ukrainian cyber warriors have downloaded over 1.2 TB of data from the Main Military Construction Management for Special Objects.

According to sources, this includes information on more than 500 military facilities of the Russian Ministry of Defense, such as

weapon arsenals, anti-aircraft missile complexes, headquarters, barracks, including those located in territories captured by the enemy in Ukraine, and other technical and project documentation.

The hackers have also taken down 7 servers and encrypted over 150 computers belonging to the institution's employees. Essentially, Russian special builders are left without a massive amount of data and backup copies of information.

Cyber attacks on Russia

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainian IT forces have been targeting the websites of major Russian banks and government agencies. They disrupted the operation of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor), and theFederal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya). Large state-controlled (propagandist) media outlets have also ceased operations due to hacker attacks.

Recently, the Ukrainian IT army halted the operation of major airports in Russia. Propagandist media claimed it was a DDoS attack.

Additionally, on New Year's Eve, the Ukrainian IT Army disrupted the operation of payment terminals in the Russian Federation.
