The Black Sabbath frontman was arrested for the attempted murder of his wife in 1989.

In a new documentary The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne, the musician revealed that he “felt the calmest I had ever felt in my life” following the incident, the details of which he could not recall.

Osbourne said, “All I remember is waking up in Amersham jail and I asked the cop, ‘Why am I here?’ and he says, ‘You want me to read your charge?’

“So he read, ‘John Michael Osbourne, you have been arrested for attempted murder.’”Following the arrest, the rock star was ordered by the court to spend six months in rehabilitation.

In the documentary, his wife and former X Factor judge said of the situation, “Thank God the judge put him in treatment for six months. I had time to really think about what he should do.”

She recalled, “I told him, ‘I don’t want the  money but if you do this again, either I am going to kill you or you are going to kill me. And do you want that for the kids?’”

The couple have been married since 1982 and have three children together, Kelly, Jack and Aimee Osbourne.

In January this year, Osbourne revealed that he was diagnosed with a form of Parkinson’s disease after suffering health complications due to a life-threatening fall in his bathroom in 2019.
