Mr Blake was left paralysed after being shot seven times in the back by a police officer, according to his father and the family’s attorney, Ben Crump.

The incident has sparked a wave of unrest in Wisconsin, with violent protests now in their third day.

Two people were killed and a third seriously injured on Wednesday morning as gunfire erupted among protesters.
