Macron responds to Putin's new nuclear threats, gives him advice
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin shouldn't be making threats when his country has nuclear weapons, French President Emmanuel Macron said in an interview with TF1.
"Threatening when you have nuclear weapons is not worth it," Macron noted, commenting on the Kremlin's nuclear threats.
According to the French president, he hasn't spoken with Putin for several months. Such dialogue occurred "when necessary."
"Vladimir Putin is captive to repression and authoritarianism in his country, which in recent years has decided to become a destabilizing state," Macron added.
He emphasized that nuclear states should "primarily feel protected" because of their arsenals.
"When it comes to nuclear weapons, many words are unnecessary. This imposes on us the responsibility to prevent escalation," the president clarified.
Putin's nuclear threats
Recently, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin once again threatened Western countries with his nuclear weapons.
In particular, he noted that Russia was ready for a nuclear strike "from a military-technical perspective," and the missiles were in a state of constant readiness.
In response to such statements, the United States stated that they did not see Russia's plans to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
On February 29, Putin also boasted about nuclear threats, bragging about specific types of weapons developed in Russia.
